I think watching movies and taking in the style or actors show is a good thing. I don't mean that you have to mimic their style exactly, just get pointers from there.Try to find what makes them good actors on screen.

Mimic their style, or copying their acting style,, that's not an easything to do. Everyone has their own take on things, each actor is different from one another. BUt I get your point, I understand what you're trying to say.

a good idea would be to watch the films and tv appearances of the movie star you like the most to get bits of what they're like, onscreen wise of course.

I think that's a great idea to do that. I agree, mimicing would be a bad idea; but it is a good idea to look at the stuff they do; especially the more famous ones. If you can, you might be able to get some sort of letter to them, asking them for pointers; I'm sure that could be possible. It would be good to have some sort of mentor.

I'm not exactly sure if that'd work. How can you tell thier styles from watching a movie? I think the best way to learn, is just complete your schooling, and then learn your own tricks and tips. That's what I would do.

I think that's a great idea! I generally do that when I watch movies. I like to know actors' styles and methods. I think that's a very good suggestion. I think we can learn a lot from those actors and actresses; I think we should thank them for it.

I have to say that I've thought about this more and the better the actor/actress in the film the more knowledge you get from it.

You see, I think that's a neat idea. To try to understand what the other actor is trying to do. It's like thier teaching you how to act. I never really thought of it that way before; but that's a really good idea. Thanks for posting that there.

I have actually learned a lot this way. Watching other people act will really help you and you can learn a lot of things plus you can try out what they are doing and get your own style going. Cool

I must say that I agree with what everyone else is saying here. Watching them is a great thing and will help you in the end. I can't think of a better way to learn.

There's nothing wrong with mimicing. In fact, if an actor portrays the perfect emotion and expression for a certain scene, then you not just have to mimic it but to replicate and execute it perfectly.
