The acting business is a lot of hard work and requires a lot of dedication but in the end it is completely worth it and one of the most rewarding businesses you could ever imagine. Some people make millions upon millions for each and every single movie they do, and some make only tens of thousands for some of their starting movies but remember that everyone has to start somewhere and you are no different.
Here are a few acting tips for on and off the scenes:
Don't just read into the script and do the scene but try to break down and understand the scene so you have a better understanding of the role you're playing and try to surround yourself in the environment around you to better feel like you're part of the scene.
You also should do some reading up on and study human psychology because actors have to change and juggle around emotions like rag rolls at the snap of a finger or when a director calls for it. You have to understand the emotions and feelings and knowing this will help you portray them better.
Goofing off on sets and pulling pranks on people are practically encouraged to lighten up the mood and to give the crew a laugh after a hard day at work but you're still on a schedule and using money so it's important not to screw around or goof off too much.
You have to know exactly when you should be talking and when you should be listening. If you're not completely into the scene and paying attention, you might say the scene or your lines at the wrong time and you might not get another shot that could be your last shot. Every scene on your first gig could be your very last shot and it's important you listen, focus and pay attention to exactly what's going on.
Those are just a few of the small acting tips that even some of the best actors today could tell you that they follow and would advise you to do the same. Acting tips are not now or ever going to be obsolete for any actor regardless of how famous they are, everyone has room for improvement.
