Tips To Finding Acting JobsA career in the acting business is what many dream of having and what many of those people who dream will never even try to pursue and do you know why? It's not because few rarely make it, it's simply because most people don't understand the talents they have been given and don't understand exactly what they're capable of. You have to remember that not every actor started at the top and some of the people that are famous today were dirt poor or bankrupt when they were found and given an acting job. Can you imagine a director asking you to become the main role of a big blockbuster hit movie coming out?

First and foremost, you must learn to start small and take what you can get. All actors start small and you will be no different. You will not be given the lead role on your very first movie more than likely and you will not make as much as some of the big shots in Hollywood are making, that just is not going to happen.

Also, don't just sit around and randomly wait to be "discovered" because if you were to do some research on some of today's biggest stars and actors, you would see that most of them have had prior acting classes or small roles before they were introduced to the big screen. Rarely anyone is just randomly discovered and given a part, you have to start just like everyone else at the bottom and work your way up. You will more than likely fail if you are planning at starting at the top of the food chain above everyone else.

Do not stress over or worry about getting an agent as a starting actor. This is way too time consuming for you and very expensive if you can't afford it. There is no need for a beginning actor to have an agent anyway because it would be a waste of time and rather you should focus your efforts on practicing roles and landing acting gigs.

Ask yourself one simple question. Who knows you better than yourself? Honestly. Hopefully, the answer to that question is yourself, and that is why you must learn to land acting gigs on your own. You must go out and locate jobs on your own without the help of others because as a starting actor, there isn't going to be anyone around to help you. If you live in a decent sized town, then more than likely there is some kind of job or requirement for what you're looking for and you don't need to just hop over to Hollywood at the snap of a finger, try finding jobs locally first.

Remember to get head shots as well because every producer and director is going to want to know exactly who is in their cast and they want to make sure everyone looks right for the part. So always have a portfolio of body and head shots at your disposal.
