Acting | What it REALLY PaysActors come in all shapes, sizes, talent levels and work in many arenas, and of course not all of them are going to make you rich. It's sometimes difficult to find work and only a few will become wildly famous and be the darling of the media.

Still it's a career that is wildly diverse in its jobs and you can find work in so many places that you may not have even considered. Acting requires, more than anything else, patience. You will be working under constant pressure, seeking new jobs, new places to play and every little while, since most acting jobs are not permanent, you'll be dealing with new scenes and people to work with.

Most of the jobs that you will find, realistically last from a very short period of time, such as a day or a few months, to just a few hours. In some cases you're going to have to work a second job but, if you've trained for your craft what that job is and what it can pay may surprise you.

Many actors work in teaching their craft, anywhere from a workshop, to a school to a university. Many actors also worked in fields such as small theaters, radio or broadcast media of another variety. Some of them pay well, while others don't offer much for either salary or security. Those who select to actively pursue full time acting careers on theater or stage or in films or commercials of course make the most money, depending on what type medium you enter and how well the production does.

As a general rule:

The center mark for most actors meant that they earned hourly, about 9 dollars per hour, upward to about 25 dollars per hour as of information given in 2008. Dependent of course on their jobs at that given time. The lowest paid made about 7 US Dollars per hour. The highest paid, other than the actual "stars" made about 55-75 dollars, and as you become more popular, and you will, your salary increases exponentially.
